Who We Are & What We Do

Mission
The Queer Business Student Association serves to provide an open environment for students of The McCombs School of Business to promote equality and representation of the LGBTQ+ community. By promoting representation and visibility, we can show LGBTQ+ students that achieving success is possible. Within McCombs, QBSA will provide a space for healthy discussion and understanding between all students, LGBTQ+ or otherwise.

Our History
The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Ally+ Business Student Association (GBSA) was established in 2007 by a group of UT students and employees of leading firms looking to create a group of open-minded, young professionals whose goals aligned with promoting workplace equality for all.
In 2015, the GLBTQA+ Business Student Association took a two-year hiatus.
Beginning in 2017, our organization was re-established in order to bring back LGTBQ+ visibility to the McCombs School of Business.
Starting in 2018, GLBTQA+ Business Student Association faced a rebrand, a refreshed officer team, and new mission in promote workplace equality and representation of the GLBTQA+ community in corporate settings.
In November of 2019, the GLBTQA+ Business Student Association heard from our fellow longhorns that the GLBTQA+ acronym was outdated. We renamed to Queer Business Student Association to be more inclusive.
Since then, QBSA has been at the McCombs School of Business to create a small community for LGBTQIA+ students.
